Dear Carys and Miss Adair’s class: There are many migrants from Ireland living in Lisbon and they have a huge St Patricks day party every year.
The party was sponsored by the Irish Embassy in Portugal and featured Irish music, food, drink, dancing, and Irish sports including hurling and Irish football!
I also made a video of an Irish band playing music, some Irish dancers, and a game of Irish hurling, which is like field hockey and lacrosse mixed into one. Given that St Patricks is a celebration founded by Irish migrants in the US, it was fun to spend the day with migrants from Ireland in Portugal.
